This Spring, Hark Up's Concert and Showcase includes an eclectic line up. Of course, the full Hark Up Horns band with a full string section will be at the center, along with the Hark Up choir under the direction of Craig York.
A cross section of instrumental musical expressions is also planned including "The Green Hornet” featuring trumpet master Nate VanderWerf, a recent master’s graduate of Indiana State University. Aaron Hettinga, Hark Up arranger, will be featured on the classic trombone solo “Bolivar” by Eric Cook. And lead trumpet Jeff Ayers will be featured on Maynard Ferguson’s “Birdland”.
Featured vocalists include Geoff Hansen, Colin Tobin, Catherine Jandernoa (Rin Tarsey), Heather Cregg and Joy Nienhuis. Special guest vocalist Alicia Scott will be featured on “Don’t Worry About a Thing” and Hark Up’s Big Band Version of “UpTown Funk.”
Rounding out the concert will be a wonderful selection of gospel and worship settings including “He Is Worthy” (Shane and Shane) featuring Geoff Hansen and Catherine Jandernoa; “See the Light” (Travis Green) featuring Colin Tobin; “Psalm 42” (Tori Kelly) featuring Catherine Jandernoa; and a great Gospel setting of “Joyful, Joyful” featuring Alicia Scott and the whole Company.
