Ballet 5:8 presents "Butterfly"
From the whispers of the past we hear a resound that cannot be silenced. Every human - beautiful or plain, desirable or marginalized - is precious and created woith purpose. Join Ballet 5:8 for an evening of one-act ballets featuring Julianna Rubio Slager's Butterfly, in memory of the children of WWII Terezin and their poems and artwork. Also included: Slager's popular work Meditations, on light and perspective, inspired by C.S. Lewis' essay Meditations in a Toolshed, and Slager's playful Brothers & Sisters, exploring the beauty and contrast of men and women.
You can join the conversation. Following each peformance, audience membes are invited to attend a TalkBack panel discussion. During this informal Q & A, you'll have the opportunity to talk with Ballet 5:8 Artistic Director Julianna Rubio Slager and Artists of the Company about your experience during the performance. What did you see? What did the performance make you feel or think? What questions do you have? All comments and questions are welcome.
